Steve Butler founded TimberCorp in 1989. He earned a B.S. degree in Forestry, as well as a Masters of Forestry in Forest Business from Mississippi State University. Steve’s early professional career included serving as a forester with the Mississippi Forestry Commission, as well as working with a forest economist in Tacoma, Washington. For ten years he was the first forester on staff in the Trust Division of the largest bank in Mississippi, where he eventually became head of the Trust Real Estate Department. While there, he graduated with highest honors from the National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University. Steve is a registered forester, real estate broker, and certified general appraiser. He received the Mississippi Society of American Forester’s Award as Outstanding Young Forester, served as President of the Mississippi Forestry Association, is Emeritus Trustee of the Mississippi Forestry Foundation, and is a Trustee of The Nature Conservancy in Mississippi.
